However, the economic crisis of 1997 led to the serious doubts about the<br />success. So that some spoke of the death of developmental states. Especially, this<br />crisis is analyzed in relation to the globalization and structural change resulting from<br />it. In this paper based on an analysis of the nature of globalization, It has been<br />argued that not only the possibility of the emergence of developmental states have<br />not gone away but also provide new area’s for states role in development . But it is<br />natural that the "Third generation of Developmental States" must make fundamental<br />changes in their characteristics and their policies.
