Aims and Scope

Politics Quarterly (PQ) seeks to provide an academic platform for researchers in the integrated fields of political science, international relations, political geography, regional studies, legal studies, and political sociology. The journal's primary goal is to facilitate the sharing of original scientific findings derived from pure research characterized by robust philosophical foundations, rigorous structure, and high-quality scientific content. Accordingly, the editorial board evaluates only those manuscripts that fall within these specified disciplines or their closely related branches.

The journal is dedicated to elevating the level of knowledge and advancing the strategic goals of the global scientific community. We aim to offer precise and well-documented solutions to the theoretical and practical challenges faced by scholars and practitioners in both domestic and international arenas. Through the publication of high-impact research, the quarterly strives to bridge the gap between theoretical political discourse and practical socio-political issues.

PQ welcomes theoretical articles that introduce or develop new scientific theories, as well as scholarly critiques and reviews of existing theories authored by prominent professors and experts. Furthermore, the journal encourages the submission of papers extracted from doctoral dissertations, outstanding master's theses, and independent research projects, provided they demonstrate rigorous research methodology. It is a fundamental requirement that every submission contributes significantly to the production of new knowledge and insight within its respective field.

Ultimately, the journal’s vision is focused on expanding its international readership and securing a prominent position in global citation databases. To achieve this, all accepted articles are required to include an extended English abstract and an English bibliography, facilitating access for non-Persian speaking scholars worldwide. Our objective is to serve as a leading scientific reference for political and international studies both regionally and globally.

The scope of the journal includes a wide range of inquiries related to political sciences. Submissions are invited that address the following thematic areas:

  • Political Science: Analysis of political theories, ideologies, and domestic political systems with a focus on both classical and contemporary thought.
  • International Relations: Research regarding global politics, foreign policy, international organizations, and the evolving dynamics of the international system.
  • Political Sociology: Examination of the relationship between society and politics, including social movements, political culture, and the impact of social structures on power.
  • Regional Studies: In-depth scholarly analysis of political and security developments within specific geographical regions, particularly the Middle East and neighboring areas.
  • Political Geography: Studies on the intersection of space, place, and politics, including border disputes, geopolitics, and territorial sovereignty.
  • Legal Studies in Politics: Exploration of the legal frameworks governing political institutions, international law, and the constitutional aspects of political systems.
  • Theoretical Contributions: Publication of articles that introduce new scientific theories or provide critical academic reviews of existing political frameworks.

PQ is primarily designed for an academic and professional audience, including university professors, researchers, and postgraduate students specializing in political science and international relations. Additionally, the journal serves as a vital resource for policymakers, diplomats, and strategic analysts who require evidence-based research and theoretical depth to understand complex political phenomena. By publishing high-quality articles, the journal aims to reach all scholars interested in regional studies, political sociology, and legal-political frameworks on both a national and international scale.
